I had read two years ago a book on 'Nai Talim' authored by Ramesh Panse and published by Nai Talim Samiti,Sevagram. This is for the second time that I am reading the book.First time I just glanced through it.It is evident from the book that Gandhiji wanted education to be productive and self supporting. He conceived the idea of 'Nai Talim ' as' Education for Life Through Life'.It is the 'Education that satisfies the basic needs of the Nation'.

Why the Government is giving tax relief to tribals in the North Eastern States (NER) and those earn from agriculture in stead of developing basic education, health and communication facilities,I as a citizen fail to understand.I have raised this issue in various forums a number of times and nothing has happened. Why a group of people will pay and the other group will enjoy, they should also be made responsible for nation building.

The other thing I fail to understand is why there would be two GSTs,central and state. In the process,we the consumers are penalized. Can't our policy makers devise a formula to share the GST revenue with the states.

This has direct relation with our reservation policy .

V.P.Singh comes to my mind today. All those who brought down his government on implementation of Mandal Commission recommendation giving reservation to OBC categories are implementing the same today. This demands detailed discussion on our education policy and practice.

I wonder how far in the government schemes and policies at present Gandhiji's ideas of education are reflected and implemented. Gandhiji himself is becoming obsolete day by day . The present generation is more unto publicity than practical action . Diplomacy is confused as democracy !

The recent report on Education says that as many as 374 districts in the country are educationally backward. We are going to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of our independence a few days from today. It needs serious discussion if our educational policies including the one adopted by this government requires a relook.

But , our democracy is in dire straits.Pandemonium in parliament in the last few days came to a dead stop point ,when OBC reservation bill was introduced in Lok Sabah today. This trump card of Modi Government has forced leaders of other political parties to pledge their support behind the move of Government.

This is the magic of vote Bank, Now people have started asking questions to opposition why they failled to bring this bill during their regime. But point is ,let all the reserved category to get their due percentage in admissions ,jobs and promotions so that non will not feel that its due share is snatched by the other !

Criminalisation of politics is the biggest threat to our democracy today . Honourable Supreme Court has already expressed concern and imposed penalty on political parties in this regard. The other concern of Honourable Supreme Court is ,matters pending in the apex court are discussed and debated in social media !

Should we consider vote bank as democracy ?Or else do we require Gandhiji’s Nayi Talim in India now ? Do we need reorientation of education to stop evil practices by politicians ? We need to discuss it seriously on our Platinum Jubilee Independence Day.
