NEW DELHI: A grand welcome given to Billionaire Abhishek Verma and Anca Verma Grand when they arrived at a five star hotel in Meerut by noted businessman Muhammed Yaser and political supporters on Saturday enroute to Deoband, Uttar Pradesh for attending the event Jashn-E-Aazadi Mushaira on the forthcoming Indian Independence Day celebrations in the memory of noted poet Late Shri Shrikant Verma (father of Mr Verma).
After this grand welcome in Meerut, the Verma Family drove to Deoband where thousands were gathered to welcome them at the venue of the mushaira and to catch a glimpse of the power couple.
The mushaira started in the evening after felicitating the Chief Guests Abhishek Verma and Anca Verma and draping them with ceremonial shawls.
Mrs Verma recited in Hindi a poem from Late Shrikant Verma’s poem ‘VasantSena’, from the poetry collection ‘Magadh’ published in 1984 which was a political satire on the political system of India. The audience went gaga hearing the poem being recited in chaste Hindi from Romanian born Mrs Verma.
Mr Verma addressed the mammoth gathering of scholars of Deoband’s Darul Uloom University and shayari lovers as well as the shayars about the rich cultural heritage of Deoband and how important the city is for North India. He thanked the organizers for putting together this event in the memory of his late father and for inviting him to be the Chief Guest of the prestigious event.
Several nationally acclaimed shayars and poets recited their couplets to the thunderous applause of the audience, who say through the entire night of the mushaira.
The event was organized by Dr. Zubair Ansari, the convener of All India Momin Conference (Youth) and renowned poet Javed Aisi to pay homage and in the memory of the Late Shri Verma, a renowned poet, writer and MP of Rajya Sabha and General Secretary of Congress Party.
Late Shri Verma was one of the popular poets in India who composed and wrote many interesting poems and books like Magadh, Jalsaghar, Bhatka Megh, Bitter Sweet Desire and many more novels and poetry collections.
