NEW DELHI: Attempts are being made to erase the legacy of the country’s first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru and it is becoming a part of the policy under the current dispensation, journalist-turned-politician Kumar Ketkar said today.nnKetkar said the government was selectively highlighting only the shortcomings of the first prime minister.nn”The government is trying to erase the legacy of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. In fact, this is becoming part of the policy. Look at the Nehru Memorial Museum & Library or any other institution,” Ketkar said.nnHe was speaking at the launch of a book by Uttam Khobragade, a former IAS officer from Maharashtra, who has now joined the Congress.nnKnown to be close to the Nehru-Gandhi family, the Congress sent veteran journalist Ketkar to the Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra this year.nnKhorbragade said it is because of Nehru that democracy survived in the country.nnFormer Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde also attended the event.nnSource: Press Trust of India
