Mayawati knew her re-entry to Rajya Sabha was impossible with 19 MLAs

By Sanjeeb Kuamr SahoonnToday, Vice-President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Mohammad Hamid Ansari has accepted Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati resignation from the Rajya Sabha as Member.nnTwo days ago, Dalit leader Mayawati has quit from her Rajya Sabha post alleging she was not allowed to speak on the attacks against Dalits.nnBut I do not agree with her, because her term as MP from Rajya Sabha has came to to an end in April 2018. The BSP chief cannot be reappointed to the Upper House on her own as her party suffered humiliating defeat in the recently held Uttar Pradesh Assembly election with winning just 19 seats.nnAccording to situation, Mayawati needed 37 MLA votes to be reappointed to Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh.nnSo, under her strategy she quits from Upper house to get attention from Public and sympathy which she lost in last five years due to her Dalit, memorials, museums and parks politics, but she forgets that Public Hai Sab Janti Hai (Public Know everything).nnIn 2012, Mayawati had shifted to Rajya Sabha after loosing the state to Samajwadi party. As a chief minister, she had been a member of the state legislative council, but following her party’s defeat in assembly election she had resigned from the council and entered Upper House.
