Modi government allocated Rs 925 crore to Meghalaya in FY18

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said the Narendra Modi government has allocated Rs 925 crore in 2017-18, Rs 130 crore more than what was sanctioned in the previous fiscal year.nnSangma, during the question hour in the state Assembly, said Rs 700 crore was sanctioned in 2013-14, Rs 578 crore in 2014-15 and Rs 773 crore in 2015-16, under the North Eastern Council (NEC).nnAdmitting that in some years, there have been a dip in the allocation to states, Conrad said many reasons accounted for that, without specifying them.nnHe said 16 schemes have been sanctioned by the NEC for Meghalaya with a total estimated cost of Rs 68.94 crore.nnSource: Press Trust of India
