Sanjay Kumar Seth takes oath as chief justice of Madhya Pradesh high court

NEW DELHI: Justice Sanjay Kumar Seth on Wednesday sworn in as the 24th Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court here at Raj Bhavan.nnState Governor Anandi Ben Patel administered the oath of office to Justice Seth in a ceremony.nn”I am going to rev up the e-filing of cases in the courts,” chief justice Seth told PTI after taking oath.nnResponding to a query, chief justice Seth said he would decide his work priorities after returning to Jabalpur, where the high court is based.nnHe was made acting chief justice after the incumbent Hemant Gupta was elevated to the Supreme Court.nnBefore becoming a high court judge, he had served as an additional advocate general.nnHe was enrolled as an advocate on July 24, 1981 and practised in Jabalpur.nnSeth was appointed as a judge to the high court on March 21, 2003, and was subsequently made a permanent judge on January 19, 2004, as per the high court website.nnHe is slated to retire in June 2019.nnSource: Press Trust of India
