NEW DELHI: Canadian-based Federal Association for the Advancement of Visible Minorities (FAAVM) said that it has appointed Anca Verma as ambassador for Children and Youth to Middle East and India.nnMrs Verma is the Chairperson of ?Olialia World? which is a US$ 2 billion multinational FMCG corporation with interests in infrastructure, hospitality, aviation and financial services sectors. nnShe is also the Managing Trustee of the Shrikant Verma Charitable Trust, which she runs with her husband Abhishek Verma, the Chairman of the Trust.nnThe role and responsibilities of the Ambassador for Children and Youth encompass a wide range of policy and service activity, both direct and indirect, for children and young people.nnThe FAAVM represents over five (5) million Canadians identified as a member of a visible minority group, accounting for 16.2% of the total population.nnThe organisation has a complex mission, comprised of a number of separate, but inter-related humanitarian strands:n? The direct provision of a range of universal and targeted services;n? Ensuring high-quality arrangements are in place for focused interventions dealing with child welfare and protection, school attendance, reducing youth crime, and promote youth entrepreneurship.
