Five persons have been arrested, officials said on Tuesday.nnMarried woman raped in Rohtak, neighbour bookednnA 27-year-old married woman was allegedly raped by a man late on Sunday night in Rohtak?s Indira Colony area, the police said on Monday. The victim, a mother of two, worked as a construction worker.nn18 year-old ?raped? in Kurukshetra?s LadwannAn 18-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 24-year-old youth in a marriage palace on the outskirts of Ladwa town of Kurukshetra district.nnOne arrested for gang-rape, Gurgaon police hunt co-accusednnThe police, on Thursday, arrested one of the two men booked for abducting and raping a college student in a moving car in Farrukhnagar area, around 22km from Gurgaon, on Monday. The complaint was lodged by the 20-year-old on Wednesday, two days after she was raped and threatened with dire consequences by the accused if she reported the matter.nnGirl ?gangraped? at knifepoint in DadrinnA 17-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly gangraped at knifepoint by four persons in Chakhi Dadri district, police said on Thursday (Jan 18) . The victim, a resident of a village in Chakhi Dadri?sub-division, said she was going to relieve herself on Tuesday night when four persons, one of whom was known to her , abducted her at knifepoint and took her to a secluded place where they gangraped her.nn3-year old raped by 14-year-old neighbour in HisarnnThe Haryana Police on Wednesday (Jan 17) arrested a 14-year-old boy who allegedly raped a three-year-old girl late Tuesday evening in Hisar. The girl?s parents who are labourers were still at work when the incident took place at around 7:30 pm. According to the complaint, the victim narrated the incident to her parents when they returned to the house.nn48-year-old held for sexually assaulting, brutalising 10-year-oldnnA 48-year-old man allegedly sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl and inserted a stick into her private parts in Pinjore on Saturday. Based on a complaint by the girl?s mother, the man, who was their neighbour, was arrested on Sunday.nnNeighbours rape 11-year-old in PanipatnnThe semi-naked body of an 11-year-old girl was recovered in Panipat on Sunday. Police arrested two of her neighbours, who confessed to having raped and murdered her, the superintendent of police said.nnMen gang-rape woman in car in FaridabadnnA 23-year-old woman wasabducted and gangraped in a moving car in Old Faridabad on Saturday. The woman was bundled into the car, raped and later dumped on Mathura road. The woman accused three persons of committing the crime. The accused are at large.nnKurukshetra minor?s gang rape: Kin allege police inactionnnThe family of a 15-year-old Kurukshetra girl who was gang raped and murdered on Friday, have accused the police of inaction. Medical examination revealed the girl was raped by multiple persons and a blunt object was inserted into her private parts. The Kurukshetra SP said the main accused, a Class 12 student, and his accomplices are on the run. The girl was a good student and aspired to be a doctor, according to her family.nnOdishannSimilarly in Odisha’s Khurda, a class 10 girl, was allegedly raped by her neighbour, Nimei Palai (22), of Tumuraput panchayat, on December 31 as he was reportedly unhappy with his unrequited love.nnAccording to the FIR lodged by the woman?s father at Rairangpur police station, her father-in-law Ramgopal Khemka allegedly attacked and raped her when other members of the family were out of home, reported by PTI on 14 th January.nnAs the victim warned him to report the matter to the family members, the accused set her ablaze by sprinkling kerosene, the complaint saidnnUttar PradeshnnAn FIR was registered in Barabanki on March 24, 2017 against Divya Pandey and Ankit Verma for allegedly raping the girl, after the victim’s father lodged a complaint, ASP Shashi Shekhar Singh told news agency PTI.nnIn the meantime, the two accused allegedly raped the girl, who is an engineering student, and then had been blackmalailing her ever since, the father of the victim has claimed.nnAccording to PTI report, five minor girls were allegedly raped in separate incidents in four district of Uttar Pradesh in December 2017.nnIn Ballia, a 14-year-old boy allegedly raped a five-year-old Dalit girl on Sunday, in a village under Sikandarpur police station.nnIn Pratapgarh, a teenager allegedly raped a six-year-old girl at evening when her parents were out for work in fields.nnIn Banda, a man, identified as Anirudh allegedly abducted and raped a 15-year-old girl several times in Attara area on Sunday.nnAnother similar incident was reported in the district when a man, named Omprakash, allegedly raped his five-year-old niece in a secluded place.nnTwo youngsters allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl at gunpoint at her house in Nagla Bajurg village in Muzaffarnagar, the police said.nnAccording to PTI report on January 20, A 32-year-old pregnant woman was allegedly raped by some unidentified men here when she had gone to relieve herself in the field in Kachula village.nnOn January 15, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped and burnt alive in Majhgawan area of Hamirpur district in Uttar Pradesh by two men, reported by Hindustan Timers.nnMaharashtrannA cleric from Nanded madrassa, identified as Maulavi Saber Farooqui has allegedly raped a 12-year-old girl and molested another minor, according PTI.nnAccording to Nanded police official, Farooqui allegedly raped the 12-year-old girl after showing her a pornographic clip on his mobile phone and molested another girl (8). A Special Investigative Team (SIT) has been set up to probe the incident, reported by PTI on 18 th January.nnMadhya PradeshnnOn November 18, a 38-year-old woman who works as a labourer was allegedly raped by five men near Obaidullaganj railway station in Madhya Pradesh for nearly seven hours, according to NDTV report.nnOn October 31, a 19-year-old student was raped for three hours in Bhopal. The police had made her wait for hours before taking her complaint, which led to the suspension of six officers.nnIn another incident, a 10-year-old was gang-raped by a 65-year-old and watchman and two others in Bhopal over three months.nnBiharnnThe latest incident took place in Rajnagar block of Madhubani district on 24 th January. The victim, who was a grade five student, had joined a group of villagers on their way to immerse idols of Saraswati, the Hindu deity of knowledge. She lost the group midway, according to report Gulf News.nnLast month, three nuns were gang-raped at gun-point at a Hindu Ashram in Nawada district of Bihar allegedly by Ashram volunteers. They were cooking in their room at night when the accused attacked, taking the nuns into separate rooms and raping them.nnIn another case, an 18-year-old victim of gang rape in Bihar committed suicide, a day before a scheduled meeting of the village panchayat to deal with the incident, was to take place, according to 12 October from New Indian Express.nnThe parents of the 18-year-old Smruti Kumari (name changed), a student of intermediate at Sabaur College in Bhagalpur district, said she was gang-raped by a classmate of hers and one of his friends. She hung herself from the ceiling fan in her room on Wednesday night. She left behind a suicide note in which she named two youths who perpetrated the crime.nnSmruti?s family did not approach police due to pressure from the villagers against it. A meeting of the panchayat was scheduled to take place to decide the punishment for the two accused. But Smruti, who was emotionally devastated by the sexual assault, decided to end her life. ?What you two have done with me has left me not fit to continue living,? she wrote in her suicide note.nnAlso, on the same month, a 35-year-old woman died in Patna after two men inserted iron rods into her private parts in a failed bid to rape her.nnAt Naubatpur in Patna district, two men tried to rape a 35-year-old married woman and, when she protested strongly, the duo hit her with a stick and shoved an iron rod into her private parts.nnJharkhandnnPakur district police in Jharkhand arrested four people for the alleged gang rape and murder of a 13-year-old girl in revenge after the victim?s family did not vote for wife of one of the accused in the local body elections, according to Hindustan Times and reported on 13 th January.nnWest BengalnnWest Bengal BJP leader and former chairman of Panskura Municipality, Anisur Rahman was arrested by police for allegedly raping a woman, according to PTO report on 8th January.nnRahman was arrested after a woman lodged a complaint at Kotwali police, alleging that he (Rahman) had allegedly raped her for over three months and was threatening her not to disclose it to anyone.nnKarnatakannA 14-year-old girl from Karnataka?s Bijapur district was allegedly raped and murdered, according to the news minute report on 20 December.nn?The girl was in Class 9, she and her cousin sister stepped outside the school and were walking home during the lunch break. It was then that two miscreants came on a bike and forcefully took her away,? according to the Investigating Officer, Basavaraj PatilnnFour other men in an autorickshaw allegedly joined the two men on the bike. Officer Patil says that the victim?s cousin followed the men to an empty site near the school.nnWhat Narendra Modi said on Nari Shakti in today’s Mann Ki BaatnnPrime minister Narendra Modi has said country’s woman power has contributed a lot in the positive transformation being witnessed in our country and society.nnModi said woman power is playing a pioneering role and establishing milestones and there are no upper limits for Nari Shakti.nnIn his first episode of Mann ki Baat in this year, Prime minister has expressed happiness that women in India are taking rapid strides of advancement in all fields bringing glory to the Nation.nnQuoting from scriptures, Modi said a daughter is equivalent of ten sons and woman power binds closely together society as a whole, the family as a whole on the axix of unity and oneness.nnRemembering astronaut Kalpana Chawla, he said its a matter of sorrow for all of us that we lost Kalpana Chawla at the early age, but her life, her work is a message to young women across the world.nnHighlighting the woman power, Prime minister said Matunga station in Mumbai is the first station in the country which is run by all woman staff .nnHe also touched upon the daredevil stunts performed by the BSF biker contingent comprising women participants on Republic Day parade.nnModi said adivasi women, of Maoist infested Dantewada in Chattisgarh, are becoming self reliant by driving e-rickshawsnnSaying relentless efforts towards self improvement and self correction is a salient feature of our society, Modi lauded the effort of the Bihar government for forming world’s longest human chain spanning over thirteen thousand kilometres to uproot social ills in the state.
