SC, ST MPs to call on Prime Minister of India with their demands

NEW DELHI (INDIA): In a bid to ensure reservation for SCs and STs in promotion in government jobs, a group of dalit and tribal MPs from various parties will call Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today said.nnThe SC and ST MPs also demanded setting up of an All India Judicial Services on the line of IAS and IPS so that the these communities could get quota in judiciary also.nnMPs of various parties today met at Paswan’s residence, where they discussed on this proposal aimed at welfare of SCs and STs.nn”There is consensus on these two issues and delegation of MPs from various parties will soon meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard and will put forward both their demands,” Paswan told reporters after the meeting.nnBoth these demands are non-controversial and have the backing of all parties, the LJP supremo claimed.nnMeanwhile, one MP at today’s meeting also favoured inclusion of minorities in the proposal but various leaders maintained that the consensus was over SCs and STs.nnBesides Paswan, Union Ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal, Sudarshan Bhagat and BJP MP Udit Raj were also present.nn nnSource: Press Trust of India
